We had a blast at the West Plains Bridal Expo last weekend, but I have to say the highlight of the event was tasting the sample cupcakes from Phat cakes by Heidi! Cabool put together a wonderful celebration this past weekend, not only celebrating our great nations independence but also paying respect to the fallen hero's of the Vietnam conflict. It was a touching celebration, I was almost brought to tears more than once with pride and respect for those who give so much to protect our country! It was an honor to be asked to cover the weekends events and I thought I would share some of the images.

The reception was laid back and it was a great celebration for this new family. I was SO excited to have my first backdrop hung I wanted to test it out. I'll be the first to say I have some learning to do, but they aren't the worst pictures I've ever seen!

We are excited about our first Bridal Show. I'm really just excited about our booth, I think it's going to be fun and unique! I really need to get to work and finish it up! We got the images I ordered today so we are ready to make our official debut to the brides of Southern Missouri :)

First of all we wanted to take a moment to say "thank you" to all the families, brides and little ones we got to shoot this past year! We had a great 2009 and are really looking forward to the future. We are kicking off 2010 by having a booth in the West Plains Missouri Bridal and Family Expo January 30 at the West Plains Opera House. We were lucky enough to shoot a beautiful wedding there last year. It is a very cool old building, located on the historic town square. So if you are a Bride in Southern Missouri I suggest you come visit our booth, we are going to be giving away a set of diamond stud earrings from Wands Jewelry!! Wichita Art

Yesterday I spent the afternoon running around Wichita with a friend checking out some of the little hidden gems that I like to visit every now and then. We also went to a web site launch party. http://www.rokict.com/ All of this talking and exposure to the art got me thinking about how I haven’t been shooting for fun very much and when I have I haven’t been doing anything with the shots. I think over the next few months I’m going to sit and play around with some concepts and see if I can come up with a few ideas that I can turn into series and work on developing a show. So the goal is by next spring start hitting up some local galleries and see if I can bust into the Wichita art movement!! I thought I would post some I’ve done in the past and maybe work this a little more, turning it into a series?
